This is a modern retelling of the snow child fairytale. The language is beautiful, the setting in the frontiers of Alaska in the 1920's was perfect, and the characters were well wrought. I was particularly taken with the three women main characters. All were strong and independent in differing ways.
My only complaint (and really this is just a complaint about myself) was that I couldn't stop thinking about Frosty the Snowman while reading and couldn't get that darn song out of my head.
He'll be back again next year !!!!
