Hatchet - Gary Paulsen I got lots of recommendations to read this book, starting with my 10 year old nephew. Really cool story of a thirteen year old boy, Brian, who survives a plane crash in the wilds of Canada with a hatchet as his only companion. I think Paulson did a great job of having Brian evolve as he spends time figuring out how to survive. I became caught up in the story. At one point as I was lounging on my couch reading, a helicoptor flew overhead and I briefly thought I needed to go out and signal to it. I love when you get so lost in a book.
