I did manage to read this through to the end so I can't say I hated it enough to throw against a wall BUT I really didn't like the author so I didn't really care about her year of reflection. The "Eat" section was fine because I always love to read about food. In "Pray", her preachy philosophical stuff about communing with God and reaching new plateaus blah blah blah grated on my nerves. Also, the whole time I was reading I was thinking "Julia Roberts ? Really ?" Can't picture her in an ashram scrubbing floors, can't picture her in Italy actually eating food.
I did appreciate some of the writing so I may check out Gilbert's other books.
